Five Acres wins at the High Sheriff Awards !
We are incredibly proud to share that Five Acres has been recognised at the prestigious High Sheriff Awards! This award celebrates outstanding contributions to the community, and we are honoured to be among this year’s winners.
Representing Five Acres at the ceremony were Lauren and Thomas, who proudly accompanied Debbie, Gavin, and Donna to accept the award on behalf of our entire team. Their dedication and enthusiasm reflect the spirit of Five Acres, and we couldn’t be prouder of them.
This recognition highlights the hard work, passion, and commitment of everyone at Five Acres, from our staff and volunteers to the wonderful champions we support every day. We would like to extend a huge thank you to the High Sheriff for this incredible honour and to everyone who continues to support our mission.
At Five Acres, we remain committed to empowering adults with additional needs, fostering independence, and creating a welcoming and inclusive community. This award is a reminder of the impact we make together, and we look forward to continuing our work with even more enthusiasm!
Thank you to all who make Five Acres such a wonderful and inspiring community—this achievement is for all of us!
Trips and Visits
Our champions enjoy regular trips and visits. Every trip is a learning experience, but also a lot of fun. From visiting local shops and supermarkets to buy ingredients for our recipes, to day trips to local parks, museums and visitor attractions.
Champions enjoy taking part in residential trips including Whitby.
Whitby
Champions have the opportunity to take part in residential trips throughout the year. This includes trips to Whitby. Champions have the chance to stay in an accessible lodge with access to a hot tub, day trips to Whitby filled with fun activities such as boat trips, mini golf, trips to the arcades and visiting local attractions and testing the local cuisine… fish and chips!
Wembley Stadium
WPS Advisory UK – based in Newcastle Upon Tyne offered a limited number from Five Acres an inclusive trip to Wembley Stadium in March 2024 to see the England vs Belgium match.
A group of Champions and staff traveled down to London on a train and enjoyed a tour of Wembley Stadium as well as a pre-match three-course meal.
This was all funded by WPS Advisory UK, to which we are very grateful for their generosity.
